Passeier kitchen
The Passeier cuisine is also legendary. Fresh herbs and spices and an ideal combination of hearty and hearty and Mediterranean characterize the dishes of this region. The large selection of regional organic products is also particularly noteworthy.
The region’s unique mountain cheese should of course be sampled during a traditional hike on one of the mountain pastures, but all the inns in the region also offer regional specialties in abundance.
In some pizzerias in Passeier Valley, for example, spelt pizza is an absolute hit. The cafés in the village serve fresh cakes, ice cream cakes and, of course, delicious coffee every day. If possible, you should visit the “Haselstaude” in St. Martin on Sundays between 11 am and 4 pm, as this is when a traditional morning pint takes place. Live music and hearty grilled dishes create a typical South Tyrolean atmosphere. The bowling alley on the Malerweg also serves small snacks and traditional pasta dishes.
The “Vinothek Prünster”, on the other hand, is ideal for a wine tasting and offers one or two fine wines. If you prefer a “cool blonde” instead of wine, the Martinerhof is the right place for you. This is the first hotel in South Tyrol to have its own brewery.
