Our Hotel Garni Birkenau is located in the Passeier Valley, just a few minutes’ walk from St. Martin and approximately 16 km from the city of Merano. Managed by the Raffl family, this hotel in the Passeier Valley features 1 apartment, 6 double rooms, and a single room, offering a familial and welcoming atmosphere.
Relaxation and vacation in Val Passiria
The Passiria Valley stretches from the health resort of Merano up to the well-known “Jaufenpass” and “Timmelsjoch” passes. Surrounded and protected by the mountain ranges of the Stubai, Ötztal and Sarntal Alps, it lies in the heart of the “Texelgruppe” natural reserve. Given its numerous well-signposted hiking trails, the Passiria Valley is a popular place for nature lovers. Yet, it is also a suitable destination for active holidays and for a restful stay.
In the immediate neighbourhood of our house there are a swimming pool, a child play ground and tennis courts. The town centre is only a short walking distance away. In summer you can use free of charge the near swimming pool or you can spend relaxing moments playing golf on the 18-hole “Passeier/Meran” golf court (1 km). The marvellous surroundings can be explored by bicycle.
The four clay tennis courts are transformed in winter into indoor tennis courts. The “Pfelders” skiing area, being a 30 minutes’ drive away, features not only a downhill run, but also a sledge run and a cross country skiing trail. Within a short walking distance from our B&B hotel there is moreover an ice skating rink.
The guest card entitles to reduced fees in all leisure facilities.
